Apply (1 sub-board) If you want to play on A Tear in the Fabric, you're going to need a character, and you'll need to fill out a profile for them before you can. Don't worry - the application's easy, and we won't turn anyone away.
Plots (1 sub-board) If you've got a character but don't know what to do with them, then post in here! This is the place for talking about personal plots for your characters, not the overall plot of the forum.
Extras (3 sub-boards) Anything that isn't important, such as letters, journals, phone calls, IMs, etc. between characters can be posted in here. These are fun little things - they're not necessary for your character to have if you don't want them to.

Mercandas
Lorhall Castle Situated in the centre of Mercandas, Lorhall Castle sits nestled against a mountain range and surrounded by a moat. It is a large, old castle, with many turrets and towers, and it hosts the royal family, knights, staff, and plenty of guests. Its inner walls protect the nobility and their houses, whilst the outer walls make sure that the castle's town is defended against hostile intruders. Despite the protection of guards and knights, Lorhall Castle, especially the town, is welcome to anyone, providing they arrive at the gates before the night curfew.
Westerhaven Forest (1 sub-board) Westerhaven Forest takes up a large quantity of the kingdom, covering even more than its name would suggest. It's a popular place for tears to appear and even houses a permanent tear, although the dense foliage can make it hard to return to. Although there are many dangerous creatures in the forest, most people can survive unscathed - if they stay to the well-trodden paths.
Merysdale Merysdale is a small, quaint village situated close to Westerhaven. Its people are largely farmers, although they also have enough hunters and woodcutters to make use of the forest, and they sell what they don't live on in the larger towns, such as Lorhall. A few temporary tears open up in Merysdale, but it's close enough to the forest that villagers will sometimes wander into there and never return.
Glaisemount City Centre Home to the commercial and business districts of Glaisemount, the city centre is a constant hive of activity, even on weeknights. If you can't find what you want in Glaisemount's city centre, then you likely can't find it anywhere - except, perhaps, for on the Internet. It's a popular meeting place for the younger generation, but there are very few tears - only the occasional temporary one every now and again.
Glaisemount Government Headquarters The government headquarters is a large building close to the centre of Glaisemount, containing a host of different people and departments in its walls. Although visitors are allowed inside, there are large areas of the building that they are not supposed to go in - and it's behind these closed walls that important things happen, including those researching the tears.
Glaisemount Academy Otherwise simply known as the Academy, Glaisemount Academy is a prestigious school and college rolled into one. It lies on the outskirts of the city, simply to provide room for all the halls of residence for the older students, and it's an incredibly popular destination for those who want to achieve in their education. The Academy itself is almost like a mini-Glaisemount, providing everything and anything the students might need.
City Suburbs Although there are homes towards the centre of the city, the suburbs house most of Glaisemount's citizens. Most of these suburbs are idyllic, but there are few areas that most people wouldn't willing wander into - and they'd definitely lock their car doors if they were driving through it. The suburbs are scattered with corner shops and independent stores, with public transport to the city centre.

Welcome to ATear in the Fabric, the roleplaying forum centred around the existence of two parallel worlds - one modern, one medieval - and the option to cross between them. There's plots for both worlds, often combining into a bigger plot, and plenty of opportunity for character sub-plots between the members. We're centred around having fun and being a friendly community, so don't hesitate to give us a try!
